Apple + Cheddar Tart

There have been so many nights this Summer where the vibe has been salad + a snack. It’s honestly one of my favorite Summer dinner themes. And a great excuse to dive deeper into some fun appetizers for some end of the day fun. This Apple + Cheddar Tart was delicious! It was buttery, cheese-y, and paired perfectly with a very simple Summer salad + a backyard picnic. Topped off with my favorite drizzle for just about anything involving bread + melted cheese - honey. Salty, sweet, and totally delicious.

This was one of my favorite snackers made this Summer, and proof that it was enjoyed by all members of my household because we wolfed down the cold leftovers the morning after. What can I say - cold puff pastry can really hit the spot sometimes.

For the tart

  • 1 frozen puff pastry, thawed

  • 1 c. shredded white cheddar, a generous cup

  • 1 honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced

  • honey + fresh thyme (for garnish)

Preheat the oven to 400. Stretch the thawed puff pastry onto a piece of parchment. Sprinkle the cheese over the top - leaving a 1/2 inch border around sides. Top with the apple slices - fanning them out + dropping them in small clumps around the top of the tart. Fold in the sides, creating an envelope type of situation, and pinch the corners so the tart seals.
