Lemon Cream Cheese Buttercream

I whipped up a quick strawberry-raspberry jam + a graham cracker crunch to sandwich in between the layers, and this Lemon Cream Cheese Buttercream to tie everything together. & it was so good! A novel concept really - juice a whole lemon and add it to the cream cheese buttercream frosting I always use, and there it is.

Peanut Butter Twix Cake

So I researched, took notes, found fun elements to piece together, and finally decided that this Peanut Butter Twix Cake is my kind of chocolate cake. It’s chocolate-y + sweet + rich cake that’s also balanced with the perfect amount of salty components. It has texture + flavor, and gets a 10/10 cake at our house.

Blackberry Crisp Cake

This Blackberry Crisp Cake hit all the right notes at our house. Fresh blackberries, a sweet cream cheese buttercream, and a spiced + crunchy oat crisp in between the layers. It’s all just perfect. The oat crisp adds this cinnamon note, and adds that little bit of spice that makes it so reminiscent of a classic crisp of crumble.

Sweet Strawberry Crisp Cake

The cake that I’ll remember as the first I (somewhat successfully) decorated with the cutest old school piping. And did it in my favorite hue of vibrant pink. Fun ribbons around the sides, a shell boarder around the top, and cute little double stacked rosettes in the center. All perfectly matched to the Sweet Strawberry Crisp Cake inside.

Lemon Cake with Strawberry Jam + Lemon Crumble

It’s been my Summer 2023 goal to find a “go-to” lemon + berry cake, and we ended the season with the best variation yet - this Lemon Cake with Strawberry Jam + Lemon Crumble. Banana Peanut Butter Cake

The cake: Banana Peanut Butter Cake.  A nutty, tangy, salty-sweet kinda cake, and a new favorite at our house.  It gives banana bread vibes with this banana cake base - made with a hearty amount of freshly mashed bananas - and a cream cheese frosting to encase the whole thing.  The good stuff was all in the layers, which I packed with a peanut butter cream cheese filling, salted caramel, + chopped peanuts.

Crunchy + Rich Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

This is a cake that really has it all. Super chocolate-y layers that sit on top of a graham cracker + pretzel crust (my personal favorite part) with the most delish peanut butter-cheesecake layer nestled in between. And let me not forget the chopped up peanuts + peanut butter cups sandwiched right with the filling. They’re in the mix for texture (duh), but they add so much. Every forkful of cake + crust + filling + frosting (all the elements) is so genuinely good

Cherry Pie Cream Cheese Cake

I grew up LOVING cherry pie, and that filling was what my little taste buds were after. That sweet, gooey, and thick filling with tender, juicy cherries - it was my dessert of choice back in the day. Pretty sure I’ve eaten lots of Marie Calendar’s cherry pie slices at family functions, and that’s a fact my parents can speak to.
